Shorewomen Fall to Diplomats
Duckworth Leads WC with 10 Points

LANCASTER, PA – Host Franklin & Marshall improved to 5-7 overall and 5-3 in conference play with a 77-42 over visiting Washington College this afternoon in Lancaster, PA. The Shorewomen slipped to 3-10 overall and 1-7 in conference play with the loss.

F&M's Courtney Tierney scored a game-high 21 points and dished out five assists. Dana Johns added 10 points and a game-high six assists, while Amy Abernathy finished with eight points and game highs of 15 rebounds and five blocks for the Diplomats.

Freshman forward Lauren Duckworth (Newtown, PA/Archbishop Wood) matched her career high of 10 points, grabbed five rebounds, and blocked two shots to lead the Shorewomen. Senior guard Yianna Patronas (Bethesda, MD/Walt Whitman) tallied team highs of seven rebounds and three assists.

The Diplomats, who led 41-27 at the half, held a 43-34 advantage on the glass and shot 49% from the field while holding the Shorewomen to 29% shooting.

The Shorewomen return to action Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Haverford.
