16, 2002 WESTMINSTER, MD Senior forward Allyson Britton (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) scored a season-high 25 points in the final game of her Shorewoman career, but it wasn't enough as Washington College finished its season with an 81-60 Centennial Conference loss at Western Maryland. The Shorewomen finish their season at 11-14 overall and 5-10 in league play, while the Green Terror improved to 19-6 and 10-4 and will play Johns Hopkins Monday in a tiebreaker game for a berth in the conference playoffs. The Green Terror shot 50% in the first half en route to building a 41-28 lead at the break. Western Maryland also outrebounded Washington, 48-34, in the game. Two players scored in doubles figures for each team. Western Maryland's Brooke Brenneman pumped in 20 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field and six-of-seven shooting from the free throw line, while teammate Kelly Cramp finished with 16 points and shot four-for-six from beyond the three-point arc. Britton's game-high 25 points came on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and 11-of-13 shooting from the free throw line. Britton also collected a game-best nine rebounds. Sophomore guard Katie Piringer (Potomac, MD/Stone Ridge) added 16 points for the Shorewomen and nailed four three-pointers. For the season, Piringer made 61 treys, besting the school record of 48 she set just last season.
