14, 2002 CHESTERTOWN, MD Sophomore guard Katie Piringer (Potomac, MD/Stone Ridge) posted game-highs of 19 points and six steals to lead Washington College past visiting Bryn Mawr, 61-26, in the Shorewomen's final home game of the season this evening at Cain Athletic Center. Washington improves to 11-13 overall and 5-9 in the Centennial Conference, while Bryn Mawr slips to 3-20 and 1-14. Bryn Mawr trailed, 18-13, with 6:55 to play in the first half and then went scoreless for a span of over 11 minutes as the Shorewomen built a 41-13 lead with 15:20 left in the game. WC led, 32-12, at the break. The Shorewomen held the Mawrters to 22% shooting in the game and forced 33 Bryn Mawr turnovers. Washington also held a 45-38 edge on the glass. Piringer connected on three three-pointers en route to her 19 points and outscored Bryn Mawr by herself, 15-13, in the opening half. Senior forward Allyson Britton (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) added 12 points, while sophomore forward Meghan Hartzell (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) blocked three shots for the Shorewomen. Freshman center JoAnn Gage (Dearborn, MI/Cranbrook Kingswood) led Bryn Mawr with nine points. The Shorewomen close out their season Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. conference game at Western Maryland.
