Volleyball Names White As Captain For 2013

White To Serve As Captain For Third Straight Year

CHESTERTOWN, MD – Washington College volleyball head coach Jamie Leventry has named senior setter Lauren White (Huntingtown, MD/Huntingtown) as captain for the Shorewomen in 2013.  White was a team captain for each of the past two years.

White, a captain for the second consecutive season, had 583 assists (7.77 assists per set) and also recorded 188 digs and 30 service aces while playing in 23 matches in 2012.  The senior had seven double-doubles as a junior.  On the team, she led the squad in assists, second in service aces and fourth in digs.  In the Centennial, she was fifth in the conference in assists per set.  She is also a two-time member of the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

The Shorewomen open up the 2013 season on Friday against Rutgers-Camden and Stevenson at Gettysburg College's Battlefield Classic at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. respectively.
