Weaver Named Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year
Freshman Joins Classmate Kang in Picking Up All-Centennial Honors
LANCASTER, PA -- Freshman April Weaver (Perrysburg, OH/Perrysburg) has been named the Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year for women's tennis in a vote conducted by the conference's 11 head coaches. Weaver was also named an All-Centennial second-team selection in singles and an honorable mention in doubles along with classmate Gyeyeon Kang (Seoung Nam Si, South Korea/Westhill [CT]).
Weaver went 11-6 at No. 1 singles this spring for the Shorewomen, including an 8-2 mark in Centennial Conference play.
Weaver and Kang posted an impressive 15-3 record at No. 2 doubles, including a 9-1 mark in conference play, this spring.
The Shorewomen went 7-11 overall and 5-5 in Centennial Conference matches this spring. They qualified for the Centennial Conference Tournament for the seventh time in eight years.
