Swim Teams Hold Annual Triathlon to Benefit Cancer Research

CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- The Washington College men's and women's swim teams held their annual triathlon to benefit cancer research on Saturday, October 5th. As of Monday, October 7th, they had raised over $1,500.

The event consisted of a 1,000-yard swim, 10-mile bike ride, and two-mile run. The top female finisher was senior Carly Ogren (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock), followed by sophomore Julianna Fritzinger (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion Area) in second and freshman Ellen Maxwell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) in third. Junior Greg Lee (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) was the top male finisher, followed by sophomore Brent Longenecker (Maytown, Pa./Donegal) in second and sophomore DJ Bradshaw (Reisterstown, Md./Calvert Hall) in third.

The money raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.
