Shorewomen Win Pair of Races Against Division II Philadelphia U.

CHESTERTOWN, MD – The Washington College women's rowing team won two races against Division II Philadelphia University this morning on the Chester River.

In the women's varsity eight, the Shorewomen's first varsity eight won in 7:48, while their second varsity eight was third in 8:47. Philadelphia U. was second in 8:17. In the women's novice four, the Shorewomen won in 9:08, while the Rams finished in 9:44.

Junior Kelsie Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's first varsity eight.  Senior Sarah Strickland (Potomac, MD/Holton-Arms) sat stroke, freshman Valeria DiLisi (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) was in the seven seat, sophomore Kate Fiori (Boston, MA/Dana Hall School) was in the six seat, junior Jenna Moore (Catonsville, MD/Mount de Sales)  sat in the five seat, sophomore Lauren Halla (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) was in the four seat, sophomore Rachel Benders (Cleveland Heights, OH/Beaumont School) sat in the three seat, senior Christine Lynch (Lincoln University, PA/Avon Grove) sat in the two seat, and senior Catherine Black (Kimberton, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) was the bow.

Freshman Emily Langan (Salisbury, MD/James M. Bennett) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's second varsity eight.  Freshman Elizabeth Hilton (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) sat stroke, sophomore Brittany Krueger (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) was in the seven seat, junior Diane Hagmann (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) sat in the six seat, freshman Carly Ogren (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock) was in the five seat, freshman Emily Sahadeo (College Park, MD/Elizabeth Seton) was in the four seat, senior Caiti Ambrose (Milmay, NJ/Sacred Heart) sat in the three seat, senior Robin Heese (Phoenix, MD/Maryvale Prep) was in the two seat, and freshman Courtney Weiss (Bath, PA/Salisbury Township) was the bow.

Freshman Abigail Thomas (Hughesville, MD/Thomas Stone) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's novice four. Hilton sat stroke, DiLisi was in the three seat, Sahadeo sat in the two seat, and Krueger was the bow.

The Shorewomen return to action next Saturday and Sunday at the Knecht Cup in Cherry Hill, NJ.
