GRAND LAKE, CO -- Washington College sophomore midfielder Emily Hubley (West Chester, PA/Bayard Rustin) has been named to the All-Metro Region first team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
Hubley, who was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team yesterday, had a monster all-around season for Washington, scoring a team- and conference-leading 64 goals and handing out 23 assists. Her team-best 87 points this season rank her third among Centennial Conference players, while her single-season school-record 85 draw controls rank her third in the conference. She also finished the season third in the conference in ground balls with a team-best 53 and led the conference in caused turnovers with 38. Twice this season she controlled 11 draws in a single game, a school record.
Hubley is the Shorewomen's first All-Region selection since Lindsay Fox was named to the first team in 2008. She is now eligible to be considered for IWLCA All-America honors. The IWLCA All-America teams will be announced Thursday.
