Karly Oristian, who works as an Admissions Representative at Washington College, was added to the women's basketball staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the fall of 2016. Oristian, who has playing basketball since fourth grade, attended nearby Queen Anne's County High School and went on to play three years of collegiate basketball at Salisbury University.
While at Salisbury, Oristian played for the Sea Gulls' 2015 Capital Athletic Conference Championship Team which went on to play in the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals. Her team also completed "The Program," which is run by military professionals with a goal of providing professional and collegiate athletic teams with the best leadership development and team building services. Oristian was selected as her team's sole winner of an accolade for outstanding leadership performance while completing "The Program."
Oristian began her basketball playing career as a post, moved to small forward in high school, and transitioned to shooting guard in college. She received a B.A. in Public Relations from Salisbury in May 2016. She also completed a minor in Marketing Management.
