The Shorewomen were slated to play Gettysburg, the third seed, in the final game of the day in the tournament’s second elimination game, but that game was postponed until Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. due to rain.

The Shorewomen won the opening game of the day 6-2 before scoring eight times in the fifth inning of a 10-1 win in Game Two, which ended after five innings due to the eight run rule.

The Shorewomen won Game One 9-2 and erupted for seven runs in the first inning of an identical 9-2 win in Game Two.

The Shorewomen took game one, 7-1, and won game two in walk-off fashion courtesy of a Red Devils error with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, 2-1. The Shorewomen, now 9-3 in Centennial play, has clinched a winning conference record for the sixth time in seven years and swept the Red Devils at home for the fourth consecutive time.

The Shorewomen swept the doubleheader against the Bears for the fifth straight season and now have won 11 straight over Ursinus, dating back to 2012.

    The Washington College softball team scored a combined 29 runs and hit five home runs, including two grand slams in a non-conference double-header sweep of host Widener tonight in Chester, PA. The Shorewomen (17-6), won the first game, 17-6, in six innings, and took the second game, 12-5. Washington's win in the opener broke a 13-game losing streak to the Pride (6-12), giving the Shorewomen their first win in the series since taking the opener of a 2006 double-header, 5-4.

On the field, four players earned All-Centennial Conference honors in a vote by the coaches. Freshman pitcher/outfielder Kristin Cooper and freshman shortstop/outfielder Suzanne Patinella were named to the first team, while freshman outfielder/pitcher Christine Anderson and sophomore catcher Kylie Nottingham garnered spots on the second team.

With the win in game one, the Shorewomen clinched a spot in the Centennial Conference Softball Tournament for the second straight year and will play Gettysburg in the team's first game of the double elimination tournament next Saturday at McDaniel.

In their second game of the day, the Shorewomen fell to 2011 NCAA Division III Tournament participant Montclair State, 2-0.

    The Washington College softball team improved to 3-1 on the season with a pair of wins today in Fort Myers, FL. The Shorewomen opened the day with a dramatic extra-inning win over Olivet, scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth for a 7-6 victory. They then pounded Wheelock, 21-2, in five innings in their second game of the day.
