Gallagher Selected for NCAA Career in Sports Forum

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Washington College sophomore softball player Molly Gallagher (Abingdon, MD/Edgewood) has been selected to attend the 2013 NCAA Career in Sports Forum, to be held in Indianapolis June 8th-11th.

Hosted annually by the NCAA, the NCAA Career in Sports Forum (CSF) is a four-day event that brings together several hundred selected student-athletes to learn about careers in sports. Although the chances of employment as a professional athlete are limited, there are many opportunities for careers as coaches, officials, and administrators in intercollegiate athletics.  The CSF works to dispel myths about careers in athletics, as well as, facilitate the opportunity to obtain industry trends and hot topics from current athletics professionals.

A Human Development major in the Education program, Gallagher is completing her second season as an outfielder on the softball team. She is the third Washington College student-athlete chosen to attend the forum in as many years, joining Erin Lewns (field hockey, 2011) and Kelsey Mills (tennis, 2012).
