Kylie Nottingham Earns Centennial Softball Player of the Week

Wins Weekly Award For The Third Time

LANCASTER, PA - Washington College junior catcher Kylie Nottingham (Ocean City, MD/Stephen Decatur) has been named the Centennial Conference Softball Player of the Week for the week ending on April 7 by the conference office.  This is the third time that Nottingham has won the conference's softball player of the week award.

Nottingham won the award on March 5, 2012 and shared player of the week honors on April 4, 2011.  She is the first Washington player to win the conference's player of the week award this season and the first to garner the award since sophomore Kristin Cooper (Georgetown, DE/Sussex Central) won the weekly award on March 26, 2012.

The junior batted .478, 11 hits in 23 at-bats, with three home runs, 15 RBI, 24 total bases, 1.043 slugging percentage, .586 on-base percentage and led the team in batting average, hits, home runs, RBI, total bases, slugging and on-base percentage. Nottingham added four doubles and scored 11 runs.  She went 3-for-3 with four RBI, a home run and a career-high four runs scored in game one of the doubleheader at Widener on April 3 in a 17-6 victory.  In the second game at Widener, the catcher plated a career-best five RBI, with four coming on a grand slam that turned a 5-3 deficit into a 7-5 lead as WC went on to a 12-5 win.  In game two versus Dickinson on April 6, she went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI, including the walk-off two-run home run in game two in a 10-1 six inning victory versus Dickinson.  The junior went 2-for-3 with a run scored in game one at Ursinus on April 2 and in the second game at Ursinus had a pair of RBI and a run scored. In game one at #7 Salisbury on Sunday, she reached base all three times as she had a hit and two walks along with a run scored and an RBI.

Washington hosts #17 Rowan on Thursday afternoon in a non-conference doubleheader with first pitch at 3:00 p.m.
