Bailey & Conroy to Serve as Sailing Captains

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Ryan Bailey (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) and Eleanor Conroy (West Dennis, MA/Tabor Academy) will serve as captains of the Washington College sailing team for the 2013-14 season. Bailey and Conroy will both begin their junior years in the fall.

Bailey was named the team's Most Valuable Sailor for the 2012-13 season, qualifying for the Carl Van Duyne Trophy - the MAISA Men's Singles Championships - for the second consecutive season. He is also the team's top returning skipper for dinghy racing after serving as the team's B Division skipper at both the 2012 War Memorial (MAISA Fall Co-Ed Dinghy Championships) and 2013 America Trophy (MAISA Spring Co-Ed Dinghy Championships.

Conroy is following the footsteps of her elder sister Mildred, who served as team captain during her senior year in 2011-12. The younger Conroy has served as both a skipper and crew during her first two years on the team and competed at the 2012 ICSA Women's National Championship First Round.
