Swim Teams Receive Scholar All-America Status
Both Washington College swim teams have been awarded Team Scholar All-America status for the Fall 2011 semester by the College Swimming Coaches Association. To qualify for the award, the team must finish with a team grade-point average of at least 3.0 for the fall semester.

Lee Wins Pair of Medals for Shoremen at Centennial Champs
Freshman Greg Lee medaled in both butterfly events and three school records fell as the Washington College swim team competed in the Centennial Conference Championships Friday, yesterday, and today, at Gettysburg College. The Shoremen finished sixth of seven teams in the final team standings.

Visiting Washington College picked up its first Centennial Conference win of the season, defeating host McDaniel, 57-38, in men's swimming action this afternoon. Freshmen Greg Lee and Austin Yocum each won two individual events in the victory for the Shoremen (4-6, 1-5 Centennial).

Freshman Austin Yocum finished second in two individual events for the Shoremen in the loss, while freshman James Ray became the Shoremen's ninth-fastest swimmer ever in the 200 backstroke.

Shoremen Defeat Widener for First Time Since 2000
Freshmen Spencer Kelley and Greg Lee each won two individual events to lead visiting Washington College to a 125-79 non-conference men's swimming victory over host Widener this afternoon. The win was the first for the Shoremen over the Pride since a 110-95 victory on December 5th, 2000, breaking a streak of 10 straight losses in the series.

The Washington College swim teams held their annual triathlon to raise money for the fight against cancer on Saturday. The triathlon consisted of a 1,000-yard swim, a 10-mile bike ride, and a two-mile run. The teams raised over $900 through their efforts.
