Morgan, Yocum, Burcin Win Individual Events for Shoremen
CARLISLE, PA -- Host Dickinson College won eight of 11 events en route to a 130-74 Centennial Conference men's swimming victory over visiting Washington College this afternoon in Carlisle, PA.
Freshman Lucas Morgan (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highlands Regional), sophomore Austin Yocum (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest), and freshman Eric Burcin (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) each won one individual event for the Shoremen in the loss. Morgan won the 1000 freestyle in 10:15.78, Yocum earned a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle in 1:50.29, and Burcin captured the 200 breaststroke in 2:17.16.
Morgan was also second in both the 200 individual medley (2:02.19) and 500 freestyle (4:59.04), while Yocum placed second in the 100 freestyle in 49.72. Sophomore Greg Lee (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) added a second-place finish in the 200 butterfly in 2:05.28, while freshman Charles Logan (Durham, NC/Riverside) placed second in the 200 backstroke in 2:06.95.
The Shoremen (4-3, 0-3 Centennial) return to action Wednesday with a 6:00 p.m. Centennial Conference meet at Swarthmore.
