Shoremen's Varsity Eight Third in Petite Final at MARC Championships

Three Shoremen Named All-MARC, Two Named Academic All-MARC

LEWISBERRY, Pa. — The Washington College men's rowing team concluded its 2016-17 season today with a third-place finish in the petite final of the varsity eight at Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships on Pinchot Lake in Lewisberry, Pa. Three Shoremen were named to the All-MARC Team, while two were named Academic All-MARC.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen were fifth in their heat in 7:30.5 to advance to the petite final. Marietta won the heat in 6:36.6, George Mason was second in 6:49.1, Lafayette was third in 6:52.6, and Franklin & Marshall was fourth in 6:53.5.
- The Shoremen's third-place time in the petite final was 6:55.9. F&M won the race in 6:39.7, Mary Washington was second in 6:45.1, and St. Mary's was fourth in 6:59.7.

- Benton and Eggstein were named to the All-MARC Varsity Team, while Yimer was chosen for the the All-MARC Novice Team.
- Bonsib and Kincaid were named to the MARC Academic All-Conference Team.
