Shoremen's Top Eight Places Second at Occoquan Challenge

LORTON, Va. — A second-place finish by the Shoremen's top eight highlighted the day of racing for the Washington College men's rowing team at the Occoquan Challenge today at Sandy Run Regional Park. The Occoquan Challenge is a 5000-meter head race with several challenging turns.

How It Happened
- In the combined men's championship, club, and lightweight eights, the Shoremen's championship entry placed second of eight boats in 12:24.67, while their club entry was fifth in 13:22.99. George Mason's championship entry won the race in 12:00.24, while Old Dominion Boat Club's lightweight entry rounded out the top three in 12:51.56.
- The Shoremen also had the only entrant in the men's freshman/novice eights. The Shoremen's novices completed the course in 15:10.63.
