Shoremen Row at Head of the Charles

Shoremen Finish 23rd in Collegiate Eight, 30th in Club Four

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Washington College men's rowing team competed against top crews at the Head of the Charles this weekend in Boston. The Shoremen placed 23rd in the collegiate eight and 30th in the club four.

On Saturday, the Shoremen finished 30th of 49 boats in the men's club four in 18:18.500. Union Boat Club (16:05.311), College of the Holy Cross (16:39.519), and Riverside Boat Club (16:47.812) were the top three finishing crews in the race. Senior Chris Moylan (Silver Spring, Md./DeMatha) was the coxswain of the Shoremen's entry in the men's club four. Senior Rob Billings (Easton, Md./Easton) sat stroke, sophomore T. Ian Flinn (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep) sat in the three seat, freshman Teddy Connell (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville) was in the two seat, and junior Ben Sproule (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) was the bow.

The collegiate eight was conducted on Sunday and the Shoremen placed 23rd of 40 crews in 16:34.309. Drexel (15:22.279), Michigan (15:24.252), and Virginia (15:25.804) had the top three finishing boats in the race. Sophomore John Gould (Litchfield, Conn./The Gunnery) was the coxswain of the Shoremen's entry in the men's collegiate eight. Freshman Zee Ali (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) sat stroke, senior Connor Howlett (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant)  was in the seven seat, sophomore Sean Haynie (Hampstead, Md./Calvert Hall) sat in the six seat, sophomore Ryan Miranda (Farmington, Conn./Farmington) was in the five seat, sophomore Mark Boissonneault (Bowie, Md./DeMatha) was in the four seat, junior Jack Christ (Hydes, Md./Jemicy Upper School) sat in the three seat, senior Anthony Cairo (Port Murray, N.J./Warren Hills) was in the two seat, and Thomas Pring (Sarasota, Fla./Pine View) was the bow.

The Shoremen return to action November 2nd at the Head of the Occoquan in Lorton, Va.
