Hugh McAdam '08 Wins Bronze in Lightweight Singles
BOSTON, MA -- The Washington College men's rowing team finished 30th of 40 boats in the men's collegiate eights today at the Head of the Charles, the world's largest rowing regatta, in Boston, MA. In addition, 2008 Washington College graduate Hugh McAdam finished third of 28 competitors in the men's lightweight singles, representing Undine Barge Club of Philadelphia.
The Shoremen completed the course in 16:33.375. Williams College won the race in 15:09.568. Virginia was second in 15:20.119, while Georgia Tech was third in 15:30.024.
Junior Jeff Nutting (Catonsville, MD/Mount St. Joseph) was the Shoremen's coxswain. Junior Robert Storck (Wilton, CT/St. Mark's School [MA]) sat stroke, sophomore Nick Stewart (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) was in the seven seat, junior Parker McIntosh (Berlin, MD/Worcester Prep) sat in the six seat, sophomore Conor Howlett (Tampa, FL/H.B. Plant) was in the five seat, senior Miqdad Annab (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) was in the four seat, sophomore Anthony Cairo (Port Murray, NJ/Warren Hills) was in the three seat, sophomore Dominic DiMarino (Wilmington, DE/Concord) sat in the two seat, and Colin Mitchell (Burlingame, CA/Burlingame) was the bow.
McAdam finished his race in 18:52.33.
The Shoremen return to action Saturday at the Head of the Schuylkill regatta in Philadelphia.
