Cord Named Centennial Player of the Year, Shirk Tabbed as Coach of the Year
Washington College junior attackman Bennett Cord has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Year, head coach Jeff Shirk has been named the conference's Coach of the Year, and a total of five Shoremen lacrosse players have earned All-Centennial honors in a vote conducted by the conference's head coaches.

Thirteenth-ranked Dickinson College won its second consecutive Centennial Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship, defeating 18th-ranked host Washington College, 11-6, in the championship game this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Red Devils (14-3) held the Shoremen (11-5) scoreless for a span of 36:29 during the game, building a 7-2 lead with five unanswered goals.

Washington College Assistant Coach to Join Alum on MLL Roster
Washington College assistant men's lacrosse coach Corey Bulken has made the 25-man roster of the Charlotte Hounds of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) for the team's inaugural season. Bulken is one of two players on the Hounds' 2012 roster; four-time MLL All-Star Stephen Berger '04 was acquired by the Hounds via a trade with the Long Island Lizards during the offseason.

All-American Goalie, Long-Time Supporter of WC Athletics John R. Parker '55 Passes Away
John R. Parker ’55, a writer, storyteller, and a former advertising executive who retired to Chestertown so he could spend more time cheering on the Washington College Shoremen, died December 11, 2010, at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington. Parker was a two-time All-American in lacrosse at Washington College and played on the 1954 USILA Laurie Cox Division Co-National Championship Team.
