Prior to assuming an assistant coaching role during the summer of 2011, Shayne Lynch was already a familiar face in the Washington College athletic department, having completed an internship under the supervision of Athletic Director Dr. Bryan Matthews the previous winter and spring.  Lynch was a four-year letterwinner at Wesley College, serving as a team captain as both a junior and senior. He was the winner of the team's Dave Reynolds Award for three straight years and the co-winner of the team's Eric Potts Award in 2010. 

Lynch coached at both the Hot Beds Lacrosse Camp and Top 205 Rising Sophomore Camp during the summer of 2010 and also worked at Champ Camp in 2009 and 2010. During his internship at Washington College, he performed a wide variety of duties, ranging from research projects to game-day operations. He earned a B.S. in Sport Management from Wesley in 2011.
