Sharpless Named Assistant Field Hockey Coach
Washington College head field hockey coach Rachel Boyle has named Tory Sharpless as the Shorewomen's new assistant coach. Sharpless was a four-year player at Division I Delaware, where she served as a team co-captain as a senior.

Antalffy and Lewns Attend Snell-Shillingford Symposium
Women’s soccer player Gabby Antalffy and field hockey player Erin Lewns reprsented Washington College at the 14th Annual Snell-Shillingford Coaching Symposium held January 25-27 at Muhlenberg College. The event was sponsored by the Centennial Conference and the NCAA Committee for Women’s Athletics. This symposium is a chance for female athletes to network and learn about opportunities in the coaching arena.

Eight Washington College field hockey players have been named to the 2012 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Academic Squad, two of whom received the additional honor of being named a Scholar of Distinction. In addition, the Shorewomen have received an NFHCA Division III Academic Team Award.

Visiting McDaniel College rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to post a 3-2 Centennial Conference field hockey win over host Washington College in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Green Terror finish their season 9-8 overall and 4-6 in conference play. Despite the loss, the Shorewomen (9-9, 5-5) clinched the fifth and final spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament by virtue of Haverford's win over Swarthmore earlier today.
