Griffin Named to Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior pitcher Billy Griffin (Middletown, Md./Middletown) is the Washington College baseball team's representative on the 2016-17 Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team for baseball, which was announced today.

Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student-athlete who exemplifies the best in sportsmanship for the All-Sportsmanship Team. This is the second straight All-Sportsmanship honor for Griffin, who appeared and started 10 games for the Shoremen this season.  He went 4-3 with a 3.73 ERA in 60.1 innings for the Washington this season.  He led the team in game starts, innings pitched, strikeouts (81) and strikeouts per game (12.08).  The senior currently leads the conference in strikeouts and strikeouts per game, second in games started, seventh in innings pitched and nine in wins.  The senior served as a captain for the Shoremen this season.
