Popolizio Tosses 2 2/3 Innings of Scoreless Relief
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #25 Johns Hopkins topped host Washington College, 5-1, in a Centennial Conference baseball game at Athey Baseball Park on Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened
-The Blue Jays got onto the board in the top half of the second inning on a one-out two-run double to left-center by Brian Lin that scored both Raul Shah and Alex Darwiche to grab a 2-0 lead. Johns Hopkins got a two-out RBI single by Ryan Orgielewicz that drove in Lin.
-Washington got onto the board in the bottom of the fourth when with one away, Aaron Barclay hit an RBI groundout to first to score Bryan Baquer to trim the Hopkins cushion to 3-1.
-Johns Hopkins tacked on a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to take a 5-1 lead. With one out, Orgielewicz doubled down the left field line to knock in Tommy Mee to give a guests a three-run bulge and Lin scored on a fielder's choice beating the throw from Washington's Joe Lozupone at shortstop to extend the lead to four.

-Washington had four hits and one walk, while leaving four on base.
