Hurvul to Coach in Cape Cod League

BOURNE, Mass. -- Washington College assistant baseball coach Ted Hurvul has landed a summer position in the Cape Cod League, the country's premier amatuer wooden bat baseball league. Hurvul will be serving as an assistant coach for the Bourne Braves.

The Cape Cod League was founded in 1885 and has had nearly 1,000 alumni go on to play in Major League Baseball. A large percentage of current Major League Baseball players who played college baseball spent their summers in the Cape Cod League.

Hurvul, who pitched at Division I University of Connecticut (UConn), spent last summer as the pitching coach for the Edenton (N.C.) Steamers of the Coastal Plains League.
