24, 2008 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The 20th-ranked Washington College sailing team finished 4th of eight schools at the Tom Noble Team Race this weekend on the Chester River. Washington finished with a record of 10-4 in the event. Senior skipper Alex Hood (Newport, RI/Portsmouth Abbey) and senior crew Shrijana Puri (Bethesda, MD/Bethesda-Chevy Chase), sophomore skipper Conner Blouin (Tampa, FL/Jesuit) and junior crew Derek Packard (Excelsior, MN/Breck), and junior skipper Nicholas Larmore (Wilmette, IL/New Trier) and sophomore crew Krista Hankins (Bridgeton, NJ/Cumberland Regional) sailed for Washington in the event. Thirteenth-ranked Navy won the regatta with an 11-3 record, while Merchant Marine was second at 10-4 and fourth-ranked Georgetown third at 10-4. Ties were broken according to MAISA rules. Old Dominion was fifth with a 9-5 record. Next weekend, the Washington College sailing team will compete at the John Jackson/Graham Hall Memorial Team Race, hosted by Georgetown and Navy, and at the ODU Open, hosted by Old Dominion. |
