19, 2006 CHARLESTON, SC -- The Washington College sailing team finished fourth of 18 schools at the SAISA/MAISA regatta, hosted by the College of Charleston, this weekend. The regatta marked the end of Washington's fall season. Freshman skipper Conner Blouin (Tampa, FL/Jesuit) and junior crew Tonie Domino (Crownsville, MD/Old Mill) finished sixth in A Division, while sophomore skipper Nicholas Larmore (Wilmette, IL/New Trier) and freshman Genevieve Smith (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll) were fourth in B Division. Blouin and Domino recorded four top five finishes in the seven A Division races, while Larmore and Smith finished in the top five in four of the seven B Division races. Two
teams representing ninth-ranked hosted College of Charleston finished first and
second at the SAISA/MAISA regatta, followed by fourth-ranked St. Mary's in third.
Four races in each division were completed in a light and shifty northerly on
Saturday. The remaining three races in each division were sailed on Sunday in
an eight to ten knot southerly that filled in after noon. |
