21, 2003 NEW LONDON, CT -- The 12th-ranked Washington College sailing team finished 14th of 18 teams at the Thompson Trophy, hosted by Coast Guard and held on Saturday and Sunday. Junior skipper Mike Buckley (Sandwich, MA/Tabor Academy) and sophomore skipper Colin Robertson (Annapolis, MD/St. Mary's), along with sophomore crew Halle Ricker (Traceys Landing, MD/St. Mary's), finished 13th in A Division. In B Division, sophomore skipper Nathan St. Onge (Hyannis, MA/Barnstable) and freshman skipper Carl Horrocks (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro) sailed with sophomore crew Max von Roth (Weston, VT/Long Trail) to a 16th-place finish. Top-ranked Harvard won the regatta, followed by 14th-ranked Dartmouth and sixth-ranked Hobart/William Smith. Washington will compete at the America Trophy, the MAISA Spring Championships, next weekend at St. Mary's (MD). |
