16, 2003 THROGGS NECK, NY -- The 15th-ranked Washington College sailing team finished 11th of 16 teams at the Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championships this weekend at New York Maritime. The event was limited to six Saturday races as Sunday's lack of a sailable breeze prevented any more races from being held. Junior Colin Robertson (Annapolis, MD/St. Mary's) and junior Halle Ricker (Traceys Landing, MD/St. Mary's) finished 14th in A Division for Washington, while sophomore Carl Horrocks (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro) and junior Chad Hillyer (Summit, NJ/Morristown-Beard) were eighth in B Division. Fifth-ranked Dartmouth won the regatta, while top-ranked Harvard was second and eighth-ranked Brown finished third. Saturday's racing was held in a 13-18 knot westerly wind with many higher gusts. |
