2008 LANCASTER, PA - Four Washington College student-athletes have been named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team for winter sports. Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student from each winter program who exemplifies the best in sportsmanship. Nominations were submitted by the athletic departments or head coaches. This is the first year of the All-Centennial Sportsmanship team, which was proposed by the conference's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Senior Elise Conway (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) represented Washington's women's basketball team, senior Kevin McGarry (North Wildwood, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) represented Washington's men's swimming team, junior Todd Green (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) represented Washington's men's basketball team, and sophomore Kathy Gerhart (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area) represented Washington's women's swimming team. Conway and Green both served as captains on their respective teams this season. McGarry was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. Gerhart was a part of the 800 freestyle relay team that set the school record at the Centennial Conference Swimming Championships. |
