Fifteen from WC Named to
Centennial Academic Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Fifteen Washington College student-athletes have been named to the Centennial Conference's Academic Honor Roll for spring sports. To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior; a starter or key reserve on his or her team; and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.

The Washington softball team had five players named to the Honor Roll - senior pitcher Michelle Laque (Ocean Pines, MD/Stephen Decatur), senior outfielder/pitcher Tricia Carroll (Owings Mills, MD/Owings Mills), senior catcher Kim Proctor (Ferndale, MD/Institute of Notre Dame), junior first baseman/pitcher Emily Adams (Bethesda, MD/Bethesda-Chevy Chase), and sophomore outfielder Sarah Claypool (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air). Carroll and Laque are three-time honorees, while Proctor and Adams each earned the distinction for the second time.

Washington's women's lacrosse team had three players named to the Honor Roll - sophomore midfielder Whitney Donald (Kingsville, MD/John Carroll), sophomore midfielder Allie Hanzsche (Catonsville, MD/Mount de Sales), and sophomore defender Taylor Robinson (Cape May Court House, NJ/Middle Township).

Both Washington tennis teams had two players on the honor roll. Juniors Todd Green (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) and Brian Danver (Bethany Beach, DE/St. Albans, MD) each represented the men's tennis team for the second time, while junior Lydia Bull (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Kent Place School), a two-time honoree, and sophomore Kelli Foster (Lothian, MD/St. Mary's) represented the women's tennis team.

Sophomore third baseman Matt Boucher (Alexandria, VA/Bishop Ireton) and junior outfielder Tony Tozzolo (Calvert County, MD/Northern) represented the baseball team on the honor roll, while junior attackman Jimmy Kielek (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Curley) represented the men's lacrosse team for the second straight year.

Adams, Boucher, and Kielek earned All-Centennial Conference honors for their respective sports in addition to earning spots on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.
