Richardson Leaving Washington College
Volleyball & Softball Coach Will Step Down at End of Semester

CHESTERTOWN, MD - Washington College head volleyball and softball coach Louie Richardson will be resigning from those positions at the end of this semester. Richardson, who assumed the reigns of both programs in the summer of 2004, has accepted a position with an indoor and outdoor sports facility in Salisbury, MD.

During Richardson's five seasons as head volleyball coach, the Shorewomen won more matches than in the previous nine years combined. In Richardson's first year as head softball coach, he guided the Shorewomen to their first-ever conference tournament appearance and their second-highest win total in program history. Richardson also spent three years as an assistant softball coach and, later, assistant volleyball coach at Washington College.

Washington College will conduct a national search for Richardson's replacement.
