Nine from WC Named to
Centennial Academic Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Nine Washington College student-athletes have been named to the Centennial Conference's Academic Honor Roll for fall sports. To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior; a starter or key reserve on his or her team; and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average. A key reserve is definied as a reserve who appeared in at least 50% of his or her team's contests.

Three Washington College volleyball student-athletes were named to the Honor Roll. Senior Chelsea Crum (Newark, DE/Charter School of Wilmington) landed on the Honor Roll for the third straight year, while senior Arielle Brown (Merion, PA/Merion) and junior Kelli Canada (Midlothian, VA/James River) each earned the distinction for the second year in a row.

Washington's field hockey team also had three student-athletes named to the Honor Roll. Senior Candace Gaull (Laurel, DE/Laurel) was named to the Honor Roll for the third year in a row, while junior Kelsey Kemp (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) received the distinction for the second time and junior Kristin Bircsak (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) was a first-time honoree.

Senior Brian Danver (Bethany Beach, DE/St. Albans, DC) represented the men's soccer team on the Academic Honor Roll for the third year in a row.

Washington College women's soccer sophomores Katie Weida (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Country Day) and Becca Nicely (Baltimore, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) each landed on the Honor Roll for the first time.
