2008 FREDERICKSBURG, VA -- Freshman Aaron Ellison (Largo, FL/St. Petersburg) and sophomore Adam Cranford (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) represented Washington College at the ITA Men's Tennis Southeast Regionals this weekend at the University of Mary Washington, playing in the championship draws of singles and doubles. In singles, Ellison dropped a first-round match to Evan Stiegel of Haverford 6-2, 6-1, while Cranford lost to fifth-seeded Alex Nemerov of Carnegie Mellon 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-0. Ellison then lost a first-round consolation match to York's Tim Mowrer, 6-2, 6-3, while Cranford lost his consolation match to Jacob Barnaby of Johns Hopkins, 6-1, 6-1. In the first round of doubles, Cranford and Ellison lost to second-seeded Alex Buxbaum and Thomas Kinrade of Haverford, 8-1. They then defeated Mike Arrighi and Carl Caceres of Scranton, 8-4 in the first consolation round before falling to Christopher Newport's Eric Shulman and Lorenzo Sisson, 8-3, in the consolation quarterfinals. |
