Shoremen Trump Valiants, 8-1
Danver Posts Perfect 6-0, 6-0 Win at No. 3 Singles

HILTON HEAD, SC -- The Washington College men's tennis team remained unbeaten on the season by defeating Manhattanville College, 8-1, in the Shoremen's final match of their spring break trip to Hilton Head, SC. The Shoremen, who are 7-0 on the season, have won their last six matches by a combined score of 40-4.

Freshman Andrew Laux (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai) and junior Todd Green (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) defeated Lance Dorfi and Kevin Lyons, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles, freshman Adam Cranford (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) and junior Brian Danver (Bethany Beach, DE/St. Albans, DC) topped Gabrielle Mallen and Julian Oribe, 8-4, at No. 2, and freshman Jon Keller (Frederick, MD/Frederick) and junior Michal Switala (Redlo, Poland/Gunston Day School, MD) beat Allen Cheon and Tim Crakes, 8-1, at No. 3.

In singles, Cranford posted a 7-5, 6-3, win against Oribe at No. 1, Danver was a 6-0, 6-0, winner against Cheon at No. 3, Green bested Lyons, 6-3, 1-6, 13-11, at No. 4, Laux downed Mallen, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5, and sophomore Timothy Parks (Geneva, Switzerland/College du Leman) downed Crakes, 8-4, at No. 5. Manhattanville picked up its lone point of the match at No. 2, where Dorfi beat Switala, 4-6, 6-4, 10-7.

The Shoremen return to action Tuesday with their Centennial Conference opener, a 4:30 p.m. match at Franklin & Marshall.
