Shoremen Trap Bears, 9-0
Washington Drops Just Three Games in Doubles

COLLEGEVILLE, PA -- Visiting Washington College blanked host Ursinus College, 9-0, in a Centennial Conference men's tennis match this afternoon in Collegeville, PA. The Shoremen, who are ranked 15th in the Atlantic South region, improved to 8-7 overall and 6-1 in conference play with the win, while the Bears fell to 2-13 and 0-7.

Washington lost just two games in doubles play. Sophomore Rafael Roldan (Quito, Ecuador/Academia Cotopaxi) and sophomore Brian Danver (Montgomery Village, MD/St. Albans) posted an 8-1 win at No. 1, while freshman Derek Wise (Salisbury, MD/Parkside) and sophomore Michal Switala (Redlo, Poland/Gunston Day School, MD) won by the same score at No 2. Senior Arturo Solis (Guatemala, Guatemala/Valle Verde School) and freshman Timothy Parks (Geneva, Switzerland/College du Leman) rolled to an 8-0 win at No. 3.

In singles, Roldan won, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 1, Danver was a 6-0, 6-1, winner at No. 2, and Solis recorded a 6-0, 6-0, win at No. 3. Switala added a 6-0, 6-2, win at No. 4, Parks posted a 6-0, 6-0, win at No. 5, and Wise was a 6-0, 6-3, winner at No. 6.

The Shoremen return to action Saturday with a Centennial Conference match at Haverford.
