Shoremen Fall to TCNJ, 8-1
Danver & Green Pick Up Doubles Win

EWING, NJ -- Host College of New Jersey took two of three doubles matches and won all six singles matches to top visiting Washington College, 8-1, in a men's tennis match today in Ewing, NJ. The Lions, ranked 10th in the Northeast region, improved to 3-0, while the Shoremen, ranked 11th in the Atlantic South fell to 0-1 with a loss in their season opener.

TCNJ's Mike Klimchak and Roger Mostellar, ranked 13th in doubles in the Northeast, pinned an 8-2 setback on Washington senior Arturo Solis (Guatemala, Guatemala/Valle Verde School) and sophomore Rafael Roldan (Quito, Ecuador/Academia Cotopaxi), ranked eighth in the Atlantic South, at No. 1 doubles. Klimchak bested Solis, the 17th-ranked singles player in the Atlantic South, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles.

Washington's lone point in the match came at No. 2 doubles where sophomores Brian Danver (Montgomery Village, MD/St. Albans) and Todd Green (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) topped Jeremy Eckardt and James Vance, 8-6.

The Shoremen return to action March 3rd with a pair of home matches. Washington will host Methodist at 9:30 a.m. and Goucher at 2:30 p.m.
