Garnet Ground Shoremen, 7-2
Roldan Wins at No. 2 Singles

SWARTHMORE, PA -- Host Swarthmore College, the 17th-ranked team in the Atlantic South region, topped visiting Washington College, ranked 15th in the region, 7-2, in a non-conference men's tennis match this afternoon in Swarthmore, PA. The Garnet improved to 5-9 with the win, while the Shoremen fell to 8-9 with the loss.

Washington won once in doubles and once in singles. Senior Arturo Solis (Guatemala, Guatemala/Valle Verde School) and sophomore Todd Green (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) upset Jonathan Reiss and Jonathan Lo, the region's 24th-ranked doubles team, 8-5, at No. 1 doubles. Sophomore Rafael Roldan (Quito, Ecuador/Academia Cotopaxi) upset Lo, the region's 24th-ranked singles player, 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-8, at No. 2 singles.

At No. 1 singles, Reiss, ranked fourth in the region, bested Solis, ranked seventh, 6-1, 6-1.

The Shoremen will finish their regular season schedule Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. match at Salisbury.
