2005 SWARTHMORE, PA -- The Washington College men's tennis team fell to 14th-ranked host Swarthmore College in an NCAA Division Tournament first round match this afternoon by a final score of 4-3. Washington won the doubles point by claiming the first two doubles matches to finish. Senior Asfand Farouk (Karachi, Pakistan/City School) and junior Tim Riskie (Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) were 8-5 winners at No. 1, while sophomore Arturo Solis (Guatemala, Guatemala/Valle Verde School) and junior Maciek Prytula (Szczecin, Poland/PLO) posted an 8-5 win at No. 2. In singles play, Solis was a 6-3, 6-0 winner at No. 1, while Prytula recorded a 2-6, 6-1, 7-6(6) win at No. 5. Swarthmore won the match when Zac Rodd completed a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Farouk at No. 2 singles. The Shoremen finish the season with a 9-10 record, while the Garnet Tide improved to 8-10.
