March 4, 2005 LEXINGTON, VA -- The Washington College men's tennis team, ranked 18th in Division III, fell to Division I James Madison, 6-1, this evening in a match played indoors at Washington and Lee University. The loss dropped the Shoremen to 0-3 on the season with all three losses coming at the hands of Division I opponents. Senior Asfand Farouk (Karachi, Pakistan/City School) accounted for the Shoremen's point in the match by defeating Jesse Tarr, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5, at No. 2 singles. Farouk also teamed with junior Mike Edison (Darnestown, MD/Good Counsel) to post an 8-3 win over Carlin Campbell and Brian Clay at No. 2 doubles. The Shoremen return to action tomorrow with a 2:30 p.m. match at 10th-ranked Washington and Lee. Match Results |
