11, 2004 DUNWOODY, GA -- Host Georgia Perimeter, the fourth ranked team in the NJCAA, defeated visiting Washington College, the 18th-ranked team in NCAA Division III, 4-2, today in a men's tennis match in Dunwoody, GA. The Shoremen's two points in the match both came in singles. Senior Pete Taylor (Canton, CT/Canton), the third-ranked singles player in Division III, defeated Javier Romero, ranked 13th in the NJCAA, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 1. Junior Asfand Farouk (Karachi, Pakistan/City School) knocked off Carlos Cobos, ranked 35th in the NJCAA, 6-3, 2-6, (10-8), at No. 4. "Although we didn't win either match, this was a worthwhile trip," commented Washington head coach Constantine Ananiadis, whose team lost at Emory, Division III's top-ranked team, yesterday in Atlanta. "We gained a good deal of experience and played a lot of quality tennis against tough competition. We're looking forward to get back on the winning track this week." The Shoremen (9-4) are back in action Thursday with a 3:30 p.m. match at ninth-ranked Mary Washington. Match Results
