30, 2003 LEXINGTON, VA -- The ninth-ranked Washington College men's tennis team slipped to 5-4 this season with a 5-2 loss at 14th-ranked Washington & Lee today. The Generals improved to 14-2 with the win. Washington and Washington & Lee are the third- and fourth-ranked teams in the Atlantic South region, respectively. Junior Peter Taylor (Canton, CT/Canton), ranked third in the region and 12th in Division III in singles, defeated Paul McClure, ranked 15th in the region, 7-5, 7-6(6) at No. 1 singles. The Shoremen's other point came at No. 3 singles, where Sophomore Asfand Farouk (Karachi, Pakistan/City School) rallied for a 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 win. The Shoremen return to action Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. Centennial Conference match at Haverford. Match Results
