23, 2003 SALISBURY, MD -- The Washington College men's tennis team won its final regular-season dual match of 2003 this afternoon, defeating host Salisbury, 6-1, this afternoon. The Shoremen, who improved to 12-5, won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches. In doubles, junior Peter Taylor (Canton, CT/Canton) and sophomore Rafael Martins (Vitoria, Brazil/Prof. Anibal de Freitas) won, 8-4, at No. 1, sophomore Asfand Farouk (Karachi, Pakistan/City School) and senior Alvaro Prado (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Liceo Javier) won, 8-3, at No. 2, and senior Louis Blanchette (Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada/Mathieu-Martin) and freshman Maciek Prytula (Szczecin, Poland/PLO) won, 8-4, at No. 3. In singles, Taylor remained unbeaten this spring at No. 1 with a 6-4, 6-1 win. Blanchette won 6-4, 7-5, at No. 3, Farouk won in three sets at No. 4, 6-0, 6-7, 6-0, Prado was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at No. 5, and Prytula posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6. The Shoremen will compete at the Centennial Conference Singles and Doubles Championships this weekend at Haverford and Bryn Mawr. Match Results
