2003 FREDERICKSBURG, VA -- The 18th-ranked Washington College men's tennis team fell to 10th-ranked host Mary Washington, 4-1, in an NCAA Division III Team Tournament second round match this afternoon. Junior Peter Taylor (Canton, CT/Canton) picked up Washington's lone point in the match, remaining undefeated this spring at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Conor Smith. Mary Washington won the doubles point by winning the first two matches to finish and won at No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 singles to secure the four total points necessary to win the match. The Shoremen finish the 2003 season with a 13-6 record. Taylor, ranked second in the Atlantic South region in singles, is expected to be awarded a spot in the NCAA Division III Individual Singles Championship to be held May 17-19 at Gustavus Adolphus College. Selections are set to be announced tomorrow. Match Results
