5, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The ninth-ranked Washington College men's tennis team swept past visiting Gettysburg, 7-0, this afternoon in Centennial Conference action at the Lifetime Fitness Center. The Shoremen, who improved to 8-4 overall and 6-0 in conference play with the win, dropped just 10 games in the entire match. In doubles, junior Peter Taylor (Canton, CT/Canton) and senior Louis Blanchette (Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada/Mathieu-Martin) won 8-2 at No. 1, sophomore Asfand Farouk (Karachi, Pakistan/City School) and senior Alvaro Prado (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Liceo Javier) won 8-1 at No. 2, and freshmen Maciek Prytula (Szczecin, Poland/PLO) and Tim Riskie (Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) won 8-1 at No. 3. In singles, Taylor, Prado, and Prytula each posted 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 1, No. 4, and No. 5, respectively. Blanchette and Riskie were 6-2, 6-0 winners at No. 2 and No. 6, respectively, while Farouk won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3. The Shoremen, now 78-0 all-time in Centennial Conference matches, return to action Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. home match against McDaniel. Match Results
