4, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The ninth-ranked Washington College men's tennis team blanked visiting Franklin & Marshall, 7-0, today in Centennial Conference tennis action at Schottland Tennis Center. The Shoremen, now 7-4 overall and 5-0 in conference play this season, improved to 77-0 all time in the Centennial with the win. In doubles, junior Peter Taylor (Canton, CT/Canton) and senior Louis Blanchette (Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada/Mathieu-Martin) won 8-2 at No. 1, sophomore Asfand Farouk (Karachi, Pakistan/City School) and senior Alvaro Prado (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Liceo Javier) won 8-0 at No. 2, and freshmen Maciek Prytula (Szczecin, Poland/PLO) and Tim Riskie (Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) won 8-3 at No. 3. In singles, Taylor and Blanchette were a 6-1, 6-2 winners at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, while Farouk won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3. Prado and Prytula won by identical 6-1, 6-0 marks at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, and Riskie was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 6. The Shoremen host Gettysburg in a 12:00 p.m. conference match tomorrow.
