1, 2002 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The seventh-ranked Washington College Shoremen improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in Centennial Conference play with a 7-0 sweep of visiting Johns Hopkins today at Schottland Tennis Pavilion. The Shoremen are now 66-0 all-time in conference play. WC won each singles match in two sets. Senior Jose Lejarraga (Bahia Blanca, Argentina/Escuela Normal Superior) won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1. Senior Seth Morgan (Chalmette, LA/J.J. Pearce, TX) won by an identical score at No. 2. Freshman Asfand Farouk (Karachi, Pakistan/City School) posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3, while sophomore Peter Taylor (Canton, CT/Canton) won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4. Freshman Rafael Martins (Vitoria, Brazil/Prof. Anibal de Freitas/Cristelo) won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5 and junior Louis Blanchette (Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada/Mathieu-Martin) won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6. In doubles, Lejarraga and Morgan won 8-3 at No. 1, Taylor and Martins won 8-1 at No. 2, and Farouk and Blanchette won 8-1 at No. 3. Match Results
