20, 2002 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The sixth-ranked Washington College Shoremen improved to 12-3 overall and 5-0 in the Centennial Conference with a 7-0 sweep of visiting Dickinson this afternoon. The Shoremen have not surrendered a point to a conference opponent this season and are now 69-0 all-time in Centennial dual matches. In doubles, sophomore Peter Taylor (Canton, CT/Canton) and freshman Rafael Martins (Vitoria, Brazil/Prof. Anibal de Freitas/Cristelo) won 8-4 at No. 1, senior Jose Lejarraga (Bahia Blanca, Argentina/Escuela Normal Superior) and junior Alvaro Prado (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Liceo Javier) won 8-3 at No. 2, and freshman Asfand Farouk (Karachi, Pakistan/City School) and junior Louis Blanchette (Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada/Mathieu-Martin) were 8-2 winners at No. 3. The Shoremen breezed through each singles match in two sets. Lejarraga and Taylor won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Martins was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at No. 3, as was Blanchette at No. 5. Farouk won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4, while Prado won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6. The Shoremen return to action with a 3:30 p.m. Centennial Conference match at Muhlenberg Monday. Match Results
