Widener Dampens Shoremen, 122-68
Violette Wins 400 Individual Medley

CHESTER, PA - Host Widener University topped visiting Washington College, 122-68, in non-conference men's swimming this afternoon in Chester, PA. The Pride improved to 5-1 with the win, while the Shoremen slipped to 2-3 with the loss.

Junior Matt Violette (Westbrook, ME/Westbrook) won the 400 individual medley for the Shoremen in the loss, finishing in a Washington College season-best time of 4:25.50. Sophomore Nick Longworth (Media, PA/Strath Haven), sophomore Austin Auger (McLean, VA/Langley), senior Dylan Pollock (Savannah, GA/Benedictine Military), and senior Chris Soper (Towson, MD/Loyola Blakefield) won the 200 medley relay in 1:43.25.

Freshman A.J. Feurer (Kingsville, MD/Archbishop Curley) placed second in the 1000 freestyle for the Shoremen in 10:39.51. Soper was second in the 200 freestyle (1:55.76), Pollock was second in the 100 butterfly (55.30), and Auger was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.83).

Washington also received the first-place points in the final event, the 200 freestyle relay, as Widener entered the event as exhibitions only. Soper, Pollock, Violette, and Auger, finished in a WC season-best time of 1:33.68.
