Two Shoremen Win Two Individual Events Each

SWARTHMORE, PA - Host Swarthmore College downed visiting Washington College, 119-86, in Centennial Conference men's swimming tonight in Swarthmore, PA. Junior Alex Thomas (Towson, MD/Calvert Hall) and senior Colin Soper (Towson, MD/Loyola Blakefield) each won two individual events for the Shoremen (7-4, 3-3 Centennial).

Thomas captured the 200 breaststroke in a WC season-best time of 2:15.56 and the 200 individual medley in 2:04.58, while Soper won the 200 freestyle in 1:48.41 and the 100 freestyle in 49.61. Junior Brandon Becker (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks East) added a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke in 2:08.87, while freshman Dylan Pollock (Savannah, GA/Benedictine Military) took the 200 butterfly in 2:04.79.

Washington also won the 400 freestyle relay as freshman Chris Soper (Towson, MD/Loyola Blakefield), freshman Justin Morgan (Colonia, NJ/St. Joseph), Becker, and Colin Soper completed the race in 3:21.14.

The Shoremen will compete at the Centennial Conference Championships February 16th-18th.
